Who will be crowned the Jerk Master of 2010? Head down to Brockwell Park this Sunday the 15th of August to find out first hand!
BBQ masters will be grilling Jerk chicken, pork belly, fish and crab claws and serving rice and peas, plantains and fresh coconut water. Rum. Music. What more could you ask for? Seriously!
Jamaican tradition
One of the most well known and beloved Caribbean dishes, jerk traditionally features meat dry rubbed or marinated in the super hot Jamaican jerk spice mixture. Street jerk stands might be a common sight in Jamaica, but authentic pan (44 gallon drum turned BBQ) grilled Jerk is hard to find this side of the Atlantic – head down to Brockwell Park for an amazing day of feasting
As well as the chance to sample some first class jerked meat, families can also bring along their own picnic and enjoy a day of free entertainment during the Jerk Cookout London event in Brockwell Park. There’s salsa and a selection of live music from around the world, as well as entertainers for the kids.
The Jerk Cookout London event runs from 12pm – 6pm, Sunday 15th August 2010. Admission to Brockwell Park is free.
