Employers expected to increase workforce in the coming 12 months
One in three service sector firms in London will increase headcount over the next year, according to new statistics from recruitment and training consultancy Gordon Yates and firm Jobs Outlook.
Gordon Yates shows that 38% of employers feel positive on future prospects with a further 56% cautiously optimistic. More than half (57%) employers are thinking about recruiting full-time employees, while 25% are considering using temps and 18% contract staff.
JobsOutlook research also shows that 31% of employers intend to increase their use of temporary workers and 29% increase permanent staff over the next year.
Just 5% anticipate cutting staff numbers and only 8% are worried about their company’s prospects in the forthcoming year.
Richard Grace, co-managing director of Gordon Yates, said: “This is in sharp contrast to last year. The research and our day to day experience suggest that confidence is definitely returning to the London market.”
One company that is set to advertise hotel jobs in London is Holiday Inn’s parent group, which recently announced large expansion plans.
These statistics forecast improved trading conditions for many recruiters across London and the South West
