As of today, it’s officially NYC Restaurant Week for the next two weeks (maybe even longer, if it gets extended like it usually does). This means that once again it’s possible to get three courses for $24.07 at lunch, and a similar offer at dinner for $35. As seasoned London and New York Restaurant Week diners know these deals can result in meals that are hit or miss, but if you haven’t made any reservations yet, a quick check reveals that some of the most dependable places still have availability.
You could lunch at spots like Aldea,Lupa, Gotham Bar & Grill, and Barbuto (whose outdoor patio is just right for soaking in midday rays); use the chance to check out a newish pick like Ai Fiori (lunch only), the reincarnation of Alfama, or Hemant Mathur’s regional-Indian at Tulsi; or make your way to the Upper West Side to hit Telepan.
Other choice picks are some amazing soul food at Harlem’s Red Rooster and Daniel Boloud’s chic Cafe Boulud. Better hurry, though — the best picks are going fast.
We are off to eat at Iron Chef Masaharu’s Morimoto later today and also the fromagerie Bistro Artisinal. We will post some reviews first thing next week.
